A weekend brunch, a prix fixe menu including a mimosa, coffee, and appetizer trio of quinoa salad, hummus, roasted cauliflower in tehina.
This shakshuka came in a stainless steel bowl, not cast iron, so it held heat differently, and cooled relatively quickly. Containing whole chickpeas, and an under-layer of tehina, I believe that the shakshuka might not have been cooked fully in the bowl, rather ladled in when ready.
With no dairy, this is perfect for the dairy-free. The spice level here felt heavily influenced with cinnamon and cumin, along with harissa dabbed on top.
Pro tip: Ask for a side of fresh vegetable salad, it'll cool off your mouth!
Needs anything else? Came with a white pita, no spoon - used coffee spoon instead.
Is it considered shakshuka? 👍
